PAHA Membership
If you are considering joining the Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association, you should first know why PAHA exists. Here are the Objectives and Purposes of PAHA as they appear in the bylaws.
OBJECTIVES & PURPOSES
The objectives and purposes of the Association shall be those stated in its Articles of Incorporation and more specifically to:
  • Foster and encourage good relations between the Association members and other associations and especially among the International Arabian Horse Association, the Arabian Horse Registry of America, and the American Horse Shows Association.
  • Aid and encourage the selective breeding, exhibiting, use, and perpetuation of Arabian horses.
  • Formulate publicity and other educational programs and activities in the interest of Arabian horse owners and enthusiasts.
  • Promote, encourage, and stimulate popular interest in the many outstanding uses and qualities of the Arabian horse.
  • Incorporate an existing association, a non-profit organization, and not to contemplate the distribution of goods, profits or dividends to the members thereof under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Perform any or all things necessary and appropriate to accomplish the objectives and purposes as stated herein.
WHY JOIN PAHA
1)LIKE EVERY GOOD  BREED ORGANIZATION, PAHA IS DEVOTED TO THE PROTECTION AND PROMOTION OF AND EDUCATION ABOUT THE ARABIAN BREED.
2)PAHA MEMBERS (EXCEPT ASSOCIATE MEMBERS) AUTOMATICALLY BECOME MEMBERS OF THE INTERNATIONAL ARABIAN HORSE ASSOCIATION AND ELIGIBLE FOR ITS BENEFITS AND PROGRAMS.
3)BY JOINING IAHA THROUGH PAHA, YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS AND PROGRAMS EXCLUSIVE TO PAHA:
- two year-end High Point Awards programs, one for the horse and one for youth riders
-Recreational Riding Recognition Program similar to IAHA’s
-Breeders’ Futurities
-the ability to stay  abreast of developments pertaining to the use and protection of the Arabian horse in monthly PAHA news releases printed in the Arabian News, a publication which you will receive as a member benefit, as well as reduced advertising rates in that publication
-low-cost advertising on this website
-membership directories
-leadership and policy-influencing opportunities as district or state officers and/or Region 15 delegates to the IAHA convention as a representative of one of its largest clubs
-the opportunity to have input in the planning of several state-sponsored activities: 2 rated shows (the PAJAG and the Eastern Arabian Show and East Coast Championships), the 4H Merit Award Program, the participation in the Breed Challenge at the K.I.L.E.)
4)PAHA’S SIX DISTRICTS OFFER THESE ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES:
-meetings in your vicinity for interaction with fellow Arabian fanciers and planning of local activities
-a wide variety of district-sponsored  activities: 3 additional rated shows in the SW, NC, and NW Districts; clinics; open and schooling shows; pleasure and judged trail rides; competitive rides; parades and exhibitions; farm tours and open barns; and fun gatherings.
PAHA offers four different kinds of memberships

1. Individual $55.00/year

  • Open to any person 18 years or older who is interested in all the objectives and purposes of P.A.H.A. including membership in the International Arabian Horse Association (I.A.H.A.); need not be an owner of a purebred or half-Arabian horse. (1 vote).

2. Ranch or Family $100.00/year

  • Open to two (2) members, 18 years or over, of the immediate family OR one family member and one full-time ranch employee OR two (2) persons jointly residing, who are interested in all of the objectives and purposes of P.A.H.A., including memberships in I.A.H.A. Immediate family shall be defined as husband, wife, children under 18, or dependent children age 18 or over living at home; need not be owners of a purebred or half-Arabian horse. (2 votes)

2.a. Youth of Family $25.00/year

3. Associate $20.00/year

  • Open to persons 18 years or older who are interested in all the objectives and purposes of P.A.H.A., but excluding membership in I.A.H.A. Shall have no vote or right to hold office in P.A.H.A. or I.A.H.A., but will be entitled to participate in all P.A.H.A. activities and will receive the Penn Arab Oasis. P.A.H.A. Associate members--if you plan on showing, you should join P.A.H.A. as an individual or family member. Associate members must pay the I.A.H.A. non-member fee at each show. (no vote)

4. Junior $20.00/year

  • Open to persons under 18 years of age owning or not owning a purebred or half-Arabian. Non-voting. Youths joining P.A.H.A. will also become members of the I.A.H.A. Youth program, with P.A.H.A. paying the Youth's dues. (no vote)
